Siililapaset - Hedgehog mittens

Siililapasten neulominen sujui nopeasti, mutta lopullinen valmistumien venyi kun naamojen kirjominen ei meinannut onnistua millään. En edelleenkään ole täysin tyytyväinen lopputulokseen, mutta saavat nyt luvan kelvata. Neuloin lapasten varret ja kärkikavennukset perinteisesti pyörönä, sillä saumojen ompelu niihin osiin ei houkutellut. Ala- ja yläkämmenet tein tasona, yläpuolen kirjoneuleena neuloen vuorotellen yhden silmukan kummallakin langalla, seuraavalla kerroksella vaihtaen lankojen paikkaa. Lopuksi ompelin kämmenosien saumat ja kirjoin naamat laakapistoilla.

These mittens were quick to knit, but it took a long time before I finally finished them because I couldn't get the faces right. I'm still not totally happy with them, but now I can at least stand them. I knitted the ribbing and the top decreases in round because I don't enjoy sewing the seams. The hands I knitted back and forth, the top part of them with two yarns as fair isle: one stitch with each yarn in turns. Finally I sewed the seams and embroidered the faces with flat stitches.
